Pebble Pups

We have a special group for kids 12 and younger, it is called Pebble Pups and it meets in the room next to the main meeting during the business portion of the meeting. Pebble Pups is a fun, hands-on learning program based on minerals, rocks, and earth science related topics. Often there are free samples from that night's lesson for the kids to take home.  Parents are always welcome to sit in along with their kids.  Check below the photo for upcoming Pebble Pup activities and past topics.

Mr. Macke teaches the Pebble Pups activities for kids at every meeting.

School Talks and Science Fair

We have an outreach group of club volunteers called Have Rocks Will Travel, that are available to give presentations and talks about rocks and minerals to school and scout groups, Roads Scholar (Elder Hostel), and other organizations. The topics for the talks include minerals, rocks, earth science topics, and an art-based lesson on wire wrapping are offered. Contact our club from the home page for more information on speakers.

The club also sponsors three special awards at the annual St. Louis Science Fair for elementary science fair projects studying the earth sciences.  Prizes include a year membership in the club, $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place.
